Rodney Perkins M.D. – Chairman, Sound ID
Dr. Rodney Perkins is an internationally known otologic surgeon who has actively participated in the development of numerous successful Silicon Valley companies, three of which have gone public (ReSound, Laserscope and Collagen Corp.). He has created a number of surgical procedures and techniques that are widely practiced globally, and is recognized as one of the top ear specialists in the world. Dr. Perkins is the founder of the California Ear Institute at Stanford, and holds 10 issued patents.
Dr. Perkins has been instrumental in guiding Sound ID’s technologies that optimize audio devices to meet an individual’s listening experience and compensate for background noise interference. In addition to Sound ID, he currently chairs the Boards of Directors of SurgrX, DFine, and Pulmonx.
Dr. Perkins received his medical degree from Indiana University and served his surgical residency at Stanford University School of Medicine and fellowship at the House Ear Institute.
